Boudoir
Boudoir is an editorial fashion theme for Shopify, made for apparel and accessory brands that lead with photography. This guide covers installing the theme, setting up your brand, building your pages, and working with each of the commerce features.
If this is your first time with the theme, start with Getting started. To find a specific setting or feature, use the sidebar or the search box.
Before you edit code
Always duplicate your theme before you change any code, so you keep a working backup. Go to Online Store → Themes, then ⋯ → Duplicate.
What's included
- A home page composed from more than a dozen sections, including an image banner with a sticky-scroll hero, featured collections, a lookbook with image hotspots, a collection explorer, image-with-text rows, testimonials, and video.
- Online Store 2.0 product pages with reorderable blocks, image, video, and 3D media, a hover-to-zoom magnifier, a full-screen lightbox, variant images, native color and image swatches, subscriptions, and local pickup.
- Merchandising tools: faceted collection filters, predictive search, complementary product recommendations, product cards that preview more of a product's photos on hover, and a slide-out cart with a free-shipping progress bar.
- Storefront essentials, including multi-level menus, currency and language selectors, customer accounts, a contact page, and a gift-card page with a scannable QR code and an Apple Wallet pass.
- Built for speed and accessibility: responsive images, background videos that play only while on screen, support for reduced-motion preferences, and a layout tuned for recent iOS Safari. See Performance and accessibility.
Apps you may need
Boudoir works on its own. Two free Shopify apps add specific features once you install and configure them:
| App | What it enables |
|---|---|
| Search & Discovery | Collection filters and the "Pairs well with" recommendations on product pages |
| Shopify Subscriptions | The subscribe and one-time selector on subscription products |
