Reorderable blocks​

The product information area is built from blocks you can reorder, hide, or add: title, price, description, variant picker, buy buttons, pickup availability, and any product app blocks. Open a product template in the theme editor and drag the blocks to arrange them.

Media: images, video, and 3D​

Add images, video, or 3D models to a product, and the gallery renders each type automatically, including an AR and 3D viewer for model media. Every media item you upload appears as a thumbnail next to the main image, so customers can step through all of them. Use a high-quality first image: it is the largest element on the page and has the biggest effect on load time.

Zoom and full-screen view​

The gallery gives customers two ways to look closer, and both are built in:

  • Magnifier. On desktop, hovering over the main image shows a magnifying lens that follows the cursor and reveals that part of the photo at higher resolution. It is ideal for showing fabric, texture, and fine detail. The lens appears only on devices with a mouse, and the high-resolution image loads on first hover so the page stays fast.
  • Full-screen lightbox. Clicking any gallery image opens it full screen, with arrow and dot navigation to move between images. Turn this on or off with the Enable image zoom setting in the product section. It is on by default.

Variant images and swatches​

Assign an image to a variant in the admin, and it appears, with the gallery moving to it, when that variant is selected. Color options use Shopify's native swatch values, set on the option itself, and show as either color or image swatches.

The product page can show a breadcrumb trail above the title, linking back to the home page and the collection. It is off by default; turn it on with the Show breadcrumb setting in the product section.

Subscriptions​

  1. Install the free Shopify Subscriptions app.
  2. Create a selling plan and apply it to a product.
  3. A One-time / Subscribe selector appears on that product with each plan's price. The plan the customer chooses carries through to the cart and the order.

Pickup and gift options​

When local pickup is enabled for a location, its availability shows on the product page. Gift-card products display optional recipient fields for an email address, name, message, and send-on date.

Cart and checkout​

The slide-out cart shows line items, automatic discounts, unit pricing, and accelerated checkout buttons such as Shop Pay. Taxes and shipping are calculated by Shopify at checkout.
